Steps to make Tomato Chilli Murabba:
  1. First of all soak dry red chillies into warm water for 30 minutes. After that drain the water and chop it finely. Chop tomatoes very finely in a chopper or on a chopping board.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add all the whole spices. Now add finely chopped onion and garlic paste to it. Saute it until onions are pink in colour. Now add chopped tomatoes to it along with salt.
  3. Now add chopped dry red chillies. Cover and cook it on medium heat for 10 minutes. Now add kashmiri red chilli powder and sugar to it and mix everything well. Cook it on medium heat and keep stirring in between.
  4. Cook it on medium to low heat for 15 to 20 minutes or until it becomes slightly thick. Turn off the heat and let it cool down completely at room temperature. Do keep in mind that it is going to get thicker after it cools down completely. Transfer it to an airtight container or a glass jar. It can be stored in the refrigerator for a few months.
  5. Tomato chilli murabba can be served with paratha, thepla etc. or it can be served as a condiment with starters. It can be even used as a spread or filling in sandwiches and wraps.
