Take 1/4 cup - Yellow Moong Dal
Get 1/4 cup Chana Dal

Take 1/3 tsp Kashmiri Red Chili Powder

Take 1 cup whole wheat flour
Prepare 1/4 cup semolina
Make ready 3 tbsp melted ghee
Prepare 1/2 tsp salt
Make ready 2 tbsp milk
Make ready as required Water to knead
Steps to make Dal Bati:
Wash and rinse dals. In a pressure cooker, heat ghee. Fry onion, ginger, garlic and green chilli for 2 minutes. Then, add chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric and all dry masalas.
Add 3 cups of water and soaked dals. Pressure cooker for 3-4 whistle. Keep to cool down.
In a tadka pan, heat ghee. Add cumin, mustard seeds, hing, red chilli powder and dry red chillies. Saute for a few minutes, then add the tadka to the cooked soft dals.
To make Bati, add the ghee and salt to flour and semolina. Make like crumbs with your palm. Then, add milk and the required amount of water to make a tight dough. Divide the dough to balls. Press at the centre lightly.
Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pressure cooker. Keep the flame low. Add the Bati balls. Cook with pressure cooker cover without rubber and lid. It will take 7-8 minutes to cook the Batis.
Serve Bati with mixed dal, papad, ghee, chopped onions and green chillies.
