The ingredients needed to make Dal Palak:
  1. Take 1/2 cup gram dal (chana dal)
  2. Prepare 200 gram spinach
  3. Make ready 3 chopped onion
  4. Get 1 chopped tomato
  5. Get 1 tsp lemon juice
  6. Get 8 garlic cloves
  7. Get 1 tbsp green chili ginger paste
  8. Take 1 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  9. Prepare 1 tsp cumin seeds
  10. Take 1 tsp turmeric
  11. Get To taste salt
  12. Make ready 1 tbsp chopped coriander
  13. Get 1 tbsp coriander & cumin seeds powder
  14. Prepare as needed water
  15. Get 1 tbsp ghee
  16. Get 2 tbsp oil
  17. Get 2 cloves
  18. Get 1/2 tsp garam masala
  19. Get 1 dry red chilli
  20. Take 2 tbsp chopped green capsicum
  21. Prepare 100 gm bottle gourd
  22. Prepare 1/2 tsp muster seeds
Steps to make Dal Palak:
  1. Wash & soak chana dal for 2 hours,wash peel & chopped bottle gourd & onion,chopped tomato,garlic.coriander etc.wash & boil spinach for 2-3 minutes.after 2 minutes take out in cold water.
  2. Pressure cook dal& chopped bottle gourd,add salt& turmeric & 1 1/2 cup water.Cook on medium flame until 3 whistle.On other flame put a pan add oil heat oil add muster seeds crackle add cumin seeds,cloves garlic cloves,,chopped onions,sauté,stir continuesly until light brown,now add chopped capsicum & tomato mix properly.
  3. Add chopped spinach,mix well,add boiled gram dal with bottle gourd,add water to adjust consistency,add salt turmeric,dry coriander &cumin seeds powder,asafoetida,lemon juice green chilli ginger paste,garam masala,,mix & cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Off the flame,for tadka heat ghee & oil in a small pan add pinch cumin seeds,dry red chilli,sauté add Kashmiri red chilli powder,off the flame,stir add in dal & serving bowl.
  5. Yummy & tasty dal Palak ready serve with paratha & rice.
