The ingredients needed to make Misal Pav:
Take 1/2 cup dry coconut (can use raw or coconut powder)
Get 2 tbsp whole coriander seeds
Get 4-5 dry red whole chili
Prepare 4tbsp oil
Prepare 2 onions chopped
Prepare 1 big tomato chopped
Prepare 4-5 garlic pods
Get 1 inch ginger
Prepare 1 cup sprouted moth, (Matth) boiled
Make ready as per taste Salt
Get 1/2 tbsp grated jaggery
Get 1/2 cup farsaan (mix namkeen)
Make ready 1/4 tsp haldi powder
Get 1 tbsp kashmiri chilli powder
Get 1 tbsp coriander powder
Take As required Few sprigs of coriander leaves
Get 7-8 curry leaves
Take as per taste Hing
Make ready 1 tsp mustard seeds
Get 1 tsp jeera
Instructions to make Misal Pav:
First dry roast coconut powder and keep it aside. Next in the same pan dry roast coriander and red chili
Boil matth with Hadi powder and salt for one whistle on high flame.
In a pan add chopped onion, garlic and ginger. Cook till onions are soft. Now add tomatoes and cook till tomatoes are mushy. Let it cool down.
Next take a blender grind coconut powder +coriander and red chilli. Grind onions and tomatoes with coconut spices.
Add oil in a pan /kadhai, then add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves and hing. Let it splutter. Now add masala paste to it. Cook till oil is released. Now add red chilli powder and coriander powder. Stir and cook. Add boiled matth, water and salt.
Let it boil. Cook till oil rises to the surface. Add jaggery and cook for few more seconds. Temper it with oil and red chili powder. Finally garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Misal is ready. Enjoy it with pav and namkeen.
